Ergonomics II

3. For each aspects of Ergonomics, explain with an example of a product that is designed for the elderly, how the product meet that particular aspect of Ergonomics.

Boomer - mobility aid for the elderly which is an award winning design is an aesthetics product as the design have a nice appearance and is have comfort,productivity )

7 day organizer pill box (above)

Safety - The 7 day organizer pill box,as it will help the elderly not to take the wrong medication to protect them to get other diseases other than the present one.

Elderly friendly cell phone (above)

Elderly friendly cellphone or handphone is productivity and has a great performance as it helps the elderly to communicate and not be jealous of those who had handphones




Elderly friendly camera (above)

Elderly digital camera is simple to use, with an ergonomic design, which entails easy to press buttons, large buttons, a grip for your hand to grasp and an easy-to-use scroll wheel and digital image stabilization, which prevents your photos from coming out blurry.(ASPECTS :Comfort,Productivity/performance,Ease of use)

Clapper (above)

The clapper,in the past we had to switch off the lights with pressing now the elderly just need to clap and the lights will turn off automatically.(Comfort)

Ergonomics I

1. Compare the 2 different workplaces, state your observations.
The first workplace was very messy and the second one was the tidy and had lots of space
2. Which workplace is preferred? State with reasons why one workplace is preferred over the other.
The second workplace would be preferred as the first one as it was the untidy and cramp place,not really comfortable whereas the second one was very comfortable,have lots of freedom and the accessories were eye-catching.
3. What are the considerations that should be taken into account when designing a workplace that is suitable for the user?
It must be spacious,comfortable and has the necessary things or items suited for the user.
4. Why do you think that Ergonomics is important when designing?
It is important so that the person using the workplace or design will have a good posture and be comfortable in their place as it does not look difficult to work in
